European Parliament adopts new payments regulation
Great news for Trustly and European consumers. The European Parliament today adopted its new payments directive, known as PSD2, with 578 yes votes vs. 29 no votes (52 abstentions).
The Parliament commented in its own press release:
“For example, payers who have no credit or debit card will be able to authorise new market entrants such as SOFORT in Germany, Trustly in Scandinavian countries or IDEAL in the Netherlands to use their bank details to make payments from their accounts.”
